Here is the video of Ranell leading off the Womens 4 x 100m 35-39yrs relay when they broke the 20 year old WORLD RECORD at Blacktown Olympic Park in March,2008. This team has now been nominated as the Masters Team representative for the Australian Sports Awards of 2008. The old time of 48.66 was smashed with a sizzling 47.74s lap.

Ranell recently was awarded a 2008 Quality Teaching Award at a lavish ceremony in The Conservatorium of Music in Sydney. These awards recognise the top teachers in the state from kindergarten right through to university. There are normally only 40 winners every year and you can only win it once in your career. The process is long and involves written evaluationas well as site visits to the classroom by panel members. Click on the link below for the press coverage of the event.

On Australia Day of 2008 Ranell was awarded the Blue Mountains Sports Achievment award for her outstanding success on the track. In the year preceding the award Ranell won a Silver Medal at the World Masters Athletics Championships in Italy, 9 Pan Pacs Gold medals & 12 Gold Medals at the Australian Masters Track & Field Championships. Ranell also won the NSW Masters Athlete of the Year and the NSW Masters Athlete Country Woman of the year awards.
